The Thai government has officially launched the 20% cash rebate for international animation and VFX services. For producers and studios planning the next cycles, this offers a significant opportunity to scale production value while staying budget-efficient.
Eligible Services
The rebate applies specifically to Animation, Visual Effects, and Post-Production services. This includes work for:
- Animation & VFX: Features, Series, and Commercials.
- Games: Assets, In-game Animation, and Cinematics.
- Immersive Media: CG for VR, AR, MR, XR, and interactive projects.
- Post-Production: Full-suite Digital Post-services.
Key Requirements
- Rebate Amount: 20% of the service fee under the commissioning contract.
- Minimum Spend: A contract value of at least 5 million THB (approx. $160,000 USD).
- Studio-Based: The incentive covers digital production work performed in Thailand; it is not a location-filming rebate.
- Disbursement: The rebate is issued as a single payment upon project completion and proof of full payment.
