The Monk Studios Launches External Development Division for Game Art, Animation & Cinematics

The Monk Studios has officially expanded its production operations, launching a dedicated external development division focused on game art, animation, and cinematics.

Building on the studio’s extensive production track record across feature films and series, the new division provides direct pipeline support for development teams at every stage of game development, from early pre-production concepting to final deliveries.

Appointing Fernando Castillo as Head of Game Art & Cinematics

Leading this expansion is industry veteran Fernando Castillo, who joins The Monk Studios as Head of Game Art & Cinematics. His credits include cinematic and technical direction on titles by Electronic Arts, Microsoft Studios, Sony and Konami, among others.

With extensive experience managing game art teams, real-time cinematic pipelines, and studio operations at AAA studios, Fernando brings a deep understanding of game workflows. His background across Technical Art Direction, Motion Capture Integration, and Cinematic Production ensures that The Monk Studios’ external development services align directly with the technical and artistic requirements of modern game studios.

“This is an exciting step for the Thai Games Industry,” said Fernando Castillo, Head of Game Art & Cinematics, “and the opportunity to work with the world-renowned talent at The Monk Studios in modern game development pipelines feels like a natural fit.”
