JOB SUMMARY:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee the company’s ongoing operations and procedures, focusing on maximizing efficiency, productivity, and growth. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the animation and VFX industry, coupled with significant leadership experience. The COO will be responsible for the development and implementation of operational strategies that align with our business objectives, while fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to define and execute the company’s strategic vision, mission, and long-term goals.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and devise strategic plans to capitalize on those opportunities.
- Oversee day-to-day operations across departments, ensuring processes are efficient and aligned with company goals.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices to enhance productivity and quality.
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Manage the staffing and resource planning process to ensure adequate staffing levels and skillsets are available to support project needs.
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
- Monitor operational financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Regularly report on performance to the executive team and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Foster a culture of innovation and creativity among team members, encouraging professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor and lead department heads to create high-performing teams aligned with company values and goals.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and vendors, to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Animation, or a related field. A master’s degree (MBA) is highly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in a senior management role, with a strong track record in operations, preferably within the animation or visual effects industry.
- In-depth knowledge of industry trends, production processes, and project management methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with various stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in operations management software and project management tools.
