The Monk Studios has secured the rights to Matt Braly’s Thai spirits animated feature.

Today, The Monk Studios is proud to announce that we have secured the rights to “Afterworld: กลับบ้าน” and are in active development. Matt Braly is attached. Alyssa Engelberg, who has been part of this project from its very first days, is attached as producer.
กลับบ้าน, pronounced “Glab Baan”, means “go home” in Thai. It carries two meanings. A boy runs away before a life-changing operation and finds himself in the world of Thai spirits. He needs to go home. And for this project, a Thai story is finally returning to Thailand, to the culture it came from. Both meanings belong to this film.
We are actively looking for the right co-production partners, pre-sales buyers, and investors to take this forward. But the story is alive. The team is here.
A Thai story. A Thai studio. And a world that global animation has never explored.
Follow the journey!
We’re not keeping this behind closed doors. Follow the production diary as this world gets made.
